Parts Needed to Install a Prodigy P2 Brake Controller in a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan

Question:

I AM BUYING A TENT TRAILER WITH A 1850 LB DRY WEIGHT AND ELECTRIC BRAKES. MY GRAND CARAVAN HAS THE PROPER HITCH BUT ONLY 4 PIN FLAT WIRING CONNECTOR. I KNOW I NEED A 4 PIN TO 7 PIN ADAPTER BUT ALSO WISH TO PURCHASE THE TAKONSHA P2 FROM YOU AND INSTALL IT. THE TRAILER COMPANY WILL NOT INSTALL THE BRAKE CONTROLLER FOR ME CLAIMING THAT MY VEHICLE MODEL HAS ISSUES WITH THE INSTALLATION THAT WOULD MAKE IT INOPERABLE, UNSAFE, AND VOID MY WARRANTY. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DODGE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY SAID THEY KNOW OF NO ISSUES. MY WARRANTY WOULD BE SECURE OTHER THEN, IF I DID HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, I WOULD FIRST HAVE TO REMOVE THE BRAKE CONTROLLER AT MY OWN EXPENSE BEFORE THEY WOULD DIAGNOSE THE PROPLEM. I NOTICE HOWEVER THAT YOU DO NOT LIST A SPECIFIC PROPORTIONAL WIRING HARNESS FOR MY VEHICLE BUT DO SO FOR OTHER DODGE VEHICLES. DOES THIS MEAN THAT I CANNOT MOUNT A BRAKE CONTROLLER IN MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE. YOUR ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS

You certainly can install a Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885 in your 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. There isn't a direct plug-in adapter. But the Brake Controller Installation kit part # ETBC7 comes with everything you would need to install the controller.

I attached installation instructions and an install video for this kit for you to check out.

We have not heard of any issues with your vehicle and brake controller installs either, you will be fine to use this controller.
