Are Air Lift 5000 or 7500 Air Bags Better For a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Towing a Toy Hauler?

I own a 06 Silverado 2500 shortbed. I tow a 34ft toy hauler usually without any toys in the toyhauler which make it even more tongue heavier. Also the bed of the truck is usually full to maybe up to 500lbs. I was thinking about getting the load lifter 7500xl ultimate bags. Will the 5000lbs and the 7500lbs bags with 5 lbs of air ride the same when truck is empty? Can you get truck and trailer load and than add air to get load leveled?

You really should go with the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs # AL88275 over the Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL # AL57575 for your 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. The weight rating refers to the maximum amount of support they are going to provide your Silverado and since your payload/Tongue weight is going to be below 5,000lbs you will not have any benefit from the 7500. Also as the 5,000lb bags are rated lighter they are going to diminish your unloaded ride quality less than the 7,500lb bags.

I recommend using the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System # AL74000 to control the air pressure in the bags. I prefer these as the smart manifold will monitor air pressure for you while you drive and make automatic adjustments should the pressure change by more than 3psi.
