Recommended Replacement Water Heater For A 2004 Breckenridge Park Model Trailer

Question:

Our trailer is a 2004 Breckinridge Park model. We need a hot water heater that is 110, not 22 volt! The furroin that replaces the Atwood GC10A-2 is 12 volt! Which one replaces the Atwood GC10A-2 that is 110 compatible?

Hey Debbie,

The only option we currently offer compatible with your 110v service would be the Dometic RV Water Heater # DMC74FR. It's 12-3/4" tall x 12-3/4" wide so this would require you to frame in the cutout hole. The access door # DMC58FR isn't going to be large enough to cover the gap so you'd have to figure out a way to cover it with some other material, which definitely isn't ideal.

To be honest running a 12v power line to a Furrion unit with a larger access door to cover the hole will be the easier route here. Even though your trailer is a more of a destination style trailer you should still have a DC distribution panel to can connect the water heater to for power.

The Furrion units # FR93FR can come with the following door sizes to cover the cutout hole:

16" x 16" Door # FR98SR
16" x 18" Door # FR48SR
18" x 18" Door # FR68SR

You'll want to pick up some butyl tape # AL28FJ for the back side of the unit and door mounting flanges and some non-sag sealant # 344270341437-1 to go around the outer edge of the access door for a waterproof seal. I've attached a short video below where Jake will walk you through the installation and go over how to frame in the hole.
