Can 18k Reese Elite Series Convert to Industry-Standard Base Rails
Question:
I have a Reese 18k 5th wheel that was originally meant for a puck system in an f250. Can I swap the legs out to work with the traditional style rail system?

Hi Taylor,
The 18,000 lb 5th wheel hitch from Reese is the Elite Series, and because it was designed for the Elite puck system (which is the same as the Ford puck system), there isn't a way to convert it for use with industry standard base rails.
So you'd need a new hitch, and you should be able to sell the current one to offset the cost. For a high-quality 18k hitch, go with the B&W Patriot fixed hitch # BWRVK3255 or sliding hitch # BWRVK3270.
