Is Supplemental Braking System Needed to Flat Tow Jeep Wrangler

Do I need a supplement braking system or can I do without it. I'm getting different opinions from different companies

Hi Tammy,
Almost every state requires a braking system when flat towing, so it really depends on where you live, and/or where you're travelling (only Missouri doesn't require one). So the answer is very likely yes, but even if it isn't legally required, it a very smart idea.
A braking system is not only going to be much safer because it'll give you better control over your motorhome, it's also good for the brakes on your coach because they won't work as hard trying to stop two vehicles at once.
So I definitely recommend one, and the best option for that is are the Demco systems because they give you braking proportional to that of your motorhome. So when you hit the brakes on your motorhome, your Jeep is going to get the same amount of braking power, resulting in much smoother braking than other systems.
For a motorhome with air brakes use the Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes # DM26VR or for motorhomes with standard hydraulic brakes use the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System # DM86VR.
