Parts Needed to Move Tekonsha Brake Controller from 2012 Grand Cherokee to 2014 Ram  

Question:

Hi my name aubrey. I have a question on the tekonsha brake controller. I have just taken it out of my 2012 grand Cherokee and I would now like to install it in my 2014 Dodge Ram. Would it be possible just to buy the wiring system to have it installed in the truck?

If your Tekonsha brake controller is a proportional controller like the P2 # 90885, P3 # 90195 or the Primus # TK90160, you can certainly use it on your 2014 Ram. You'll need the brake control wiring adapter, part # 3023-P. I've linked you to an install video showing the # 3023-P being used to install a controller in a 2013 Ram.

If your controller is an older time-delayed model, it will not be compatible with the wiring system of your truck. You'd need to upgrade to a proportional controller like those mentioned above. I've linked you to a tech bulletin that explains this.
