Troubleshooting Brake Lights Not Working After 4-Way Install on 2016 Ford Edge
Question:
Hi I bought a curt hitch and wiring harness for my 2016 ford edge I got it all wired and hooked up but brake lights on the plug won’t work? I called curt and they sent a new wiring harness and same thing again. What am I doing wrong? All other lights work even brakes lights on car.

Hi Brittney; since the second wiring harness didn't work it sounds like it probably isn't the wiring harness itself, although it is possible. Because everything else works and the signal comes from the tail lights I would double check your ground connection. Especially if you used the same ground point the second time. Make sure it is nice and secure on a clean, bare-metal surface.
It also wouldn't hurt to make sure the connectors are completely seated. You can unplug them and plug them back in until they click into place. If all that checks out you can see if Curt will send you a third replacement. Make sure you have the # C56272 if it is an SE or SEL and the # C56292 if it is a Sport or Titanium.
