What is Part B in the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution Instructions

On the directions it starts off with a diagram and says part B may not be in kit What the heck is part B for and do I need it.

In the instructions for weight distribution system # RP66082, part B is a bushing. It is used when the shank of the ball being used is smaller than the hole on the ball platform. For example bushing # 58184 is used if you had a ball hole that was 1-1/4 inches in diameter but a ball shank that is only 1 inch in diameter.
You would not need to worry about this if you have a ball that has a 1-1/4 inch shank diameter such as # A-90 for a 2 inch ball or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch ball.
