What To Do is Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System is Over Tongue Weight Rating
Question:
Hello. I have a 23 19fbs epro that I purchased early last year. The dealer installed this model wdh set up and said this was the recommended size for TT and TV. I tow with a 21 ford f150 lariat with a tow package. I have been traveling with this set up for approximately 1500 miles or so and haven’t really noticed any big issues but haven’t been on any long mile trips yet. I have one of your tongue weight scales I purchased last year to verify my weights most often. See pic. Anyway, the loaded tongue with two flooded batteries and two full propane tanks is 650lbs. With our e-bikes loaded on rear hitch it brings it down to approximately 550lbs. This doesn’t account for any payload in TV. Should I be concerned and go up in hitch size and/or sway/trunion bars? Is that even possible? Thx, Steve

Hey Steve, so it does seem like you are over the tongue weight rating of your Fastway weight distribution system which means it's not entirely effective. You did ask about the weight of cargo in the tow vehicle so to address that any weight behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle from cargo would need to get counted as additional tongue weight.
So for uprated spring bars you'd want the part # FA94-02-0899 which is sold individually. With just two new spring bars you'd have the correct rated system and you wouldn't need to change anything else.
