2015 ford escape hitch 36524. Does this hitch require lowering the muffler and cutting heat shields. Thanks

Hey Jeff,
Yes, the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36524 would require lowering the exhaust and cutting a small portion of the heat shields off on the frame so that the mounting brackets for the hitch an sit in place. I typically use a cam strap to help hold the exhaust up once the hangers are unbolted and a pair of tin snips will easily cut through the heat shield.
