Product For Moving/Repositioning A Mobile Stage Stageline SL-75 Portable Stage

Question:

We are theater company hauling a Mobile Stage Stageline SL-75 and renting it to events to subsidize our free admission theater. Is there a piece of equipment that would help us position that stage in the precise location the clients wants it to go? Sometimes they dont leave a place for our hauling vehicle to get out of the way. It would be great if we could walk the stage a couple of yards.

Hello Marshall, that is an interesting question. Admittedly, I am not exactly a portable stage expert, but I actually have heard of people using trailer jacks to move portable stages. A sufficiently strong jack with a nice sturdy wheel would be something you could potentially use for this application. This would of course require you to find a way to attach multiple jacks all the way around the stage and then raise them all simultaneously so the stage could be lifted and moved. Our best option for this is the Ark Xtreme Off-Road Swivel Trailer Jack w/ 2 Wheels # ORJW750BD. Keep in mind that each jack is rated for up to 1,650 lbs individually.

I have also included a link below that will show you our full selection of trailer jacks with wheels. Feel free to reach out if you have further questions.

Thanks for the response, Jesse. The tongue weight for the Mobile stage is close to 6,000 lbs. Is there anything you could suggest that could handle that amount of weight?

@MarshallS The Ark # ORJW750BD has a 1,650 lb rating and this is going to be basically the highest rating for a jack with a wheel. You would have to use at least 4 of them attached to support the 6,000 lb stage. More than 4 would be ideal just to give you some cushion.

How about this one, Jesse: Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly with Chain Drive - 2-5/16" Hitch Ball - 10,000 lbs Item # TVXL25

@MarshallS That is rated for 10,000 lbs you would just have to come up with a way to attach it to the stage. That is designed to attach to a 2-5/16" trailer ball.

The stage trailer has a tongue with a ball that size. That's how it's attached to a hauling vehicle. Is there a return policy if we order one of those and it doesn't function as we hoped?

@MarshallS Oh ok gotcha. I was not aware that these stages were set up like that. In that case yes, the Trailer Valet # TVXL25 is a great choice. As long as you are on level ground, the manual crank could allow one person to move the stage by themselves, albeit very slowly. This is essentially exactly what it was designed for. We do accept returns just keep in mind that we cannot accept return on used products.
