How to Wire a 7-Way That's Only Wired for a 4-Way

Question:

I have a Winnebago sprinter view camper. It has a 7 way trailer plug but only 4 wires connected from factory wire harness. So it’s really a four way. I’d like to use a wireless brake control for a trailer. Can I?

Not without some more wires connected to that 7-way. It sounds like it's just wired up for the lighting functions. You'll need to add a ground, power wire, and an optional accessory wire. You can skip connecting a brake controller wire if you're using a wireless controller like the Curt Echo item # C51180.

You can use the 12 Gauge Black Primary Wire item # 12-1-1 to wire in the remaining functions. You'll also need a couple of the Ring Terminal item # DW05705-1.

I attached a couple pictures below that show how both the trailer side and vehicle side 7-ways should be wired.
