Ruth, I have a great option for you with the Tekonsha Primus IQ part # TK90160. The Primus is proportional, affordable and features an easy to read LED display. There is not a port on the 2020 Ranger for a plug and play wiring harness so there will be some wiring involved. There will be a large wiring harness that goes through the driver's side firewall to the left of the brake pedal that the pig tail from the brake controller will need to be connected to. You won't need any wiring at the bumper if you have the 7-Way plug factory installed.

If you don't feel comfortable wiring the brake controller in at the dash (I don't blame you) check out our local installer locator at the link I attached below. You can put in your zip code to find an installer near you. I do realize that going to an installer will cost a bit more money on top of the cost of the brake controller so I wanted to give you one more option.

We also have the Curt Echo brake controller part # C51180 that plugs right into your 7-way plug at the bumper. You will not need an installer to help with the Curt Echo. It is proportional and connects via bluetooth to your smartphone. It can also be removed from the 7-way plug when not towing.
