Will The Yakima SlimShady Awning Clear The Body Of A 2020 Toyota Tacoma On An OutPost HD Rack

Hello I currently have a 2020 toyota tacoma with the yakima outpost hd rack its not the one that adjust in height I wanted to get a yakima slimshday awning. I wanted to make sure the mid size one but i want to make sure it will fit. Will it hit the truck? Or does it clear.

Hi Alfonso,

The Yakima SlimShady Awning # Y56VR is 4-1/2' wide so it would fit on your 2020 Toyota Tacoma bed without hitting the truck, as long as you properly position the towers of your OutPost HD Ladder Rack # Y01152-5868. If you're talking about clearing the top of the cab then your ladder rack crossbars would need to sit higher than the cab in order to clear it.

@Fonz The Yakima SlimShady Awning - 6' 6" Long x 6' 6" Wide # Y36VR should fit as well but you'll likely need to play around with where the crossbars of the ladder rack sit to accommodate the larger size and then adjust where the mounting brackets for the awning sit in the rail. The mounting brackets just need to be spaced 24" to 47" apart but don't have to be centered on the awning in order to work. You'll likely just have some overhang off the rear of the bed.
