Hey Tanner,
You should definitely not have constant power from the blue brake wire on your Tekonsha Voyager # 39510. Generally the cause of this is a faulty brake controller, but you can test it to find out. What you want to do is sever the blue wire a couple inches from the back of the controller, then use a circuit tester to test the end of the blue wire coming out of the controller. It should only have power when you apply the manual override; if it shows power at idle then there is an issue with the controller and it will need to be replaced.
Another possibility is the red wire was attached to the hot side of brake light switch (which is constantly active). It should be connected to the cold side (which means the side that only gets power when the brake pedal is depressed).

This particular unit has an angle limit on it as well. I think I had it mounted at 90° because of the vehicle. I’m putting it in so that would be 90° vertical so it was coming straight up on the dash now when I noticed the problem. I pulled the brake controller out of my truck And I put it into the young ladies jeep and it works just fine and I put the voyager in my truck and wired it in and I angled it off straight and it is sitting at about 30° and it works perfectly fine on my truck. Could it have been the angle I had the controller sitting at?
