Which Trailer Brake Controller and Wiring is Recommended For a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado?
Question:
I have a 2004 Chevy Colorado 5 cyl and I need to add a brake controller for a single axle camper with a max wt of 3,500 lbs. Which controller, in-line fuse and breaker do you recommend? Thanks Bob

That's a great question Bob. I do see you were looking at the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 which is one of my favorite brake controllers thanks to the easy to read LCD adjustable screen. To help with the installation I have linked an installation video done on a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado in our facility near the bottom of the page. In this video they install the Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 which uses the same connector. They also use the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. If you already have a 7-way the Wiring Kit # 5506 will provide you with the circuit breaker and wiring needed to run back to the 7-way for the brake controller and charge line.
If you have something different or need additional help with the 7-way, please let me know.
