Most Economical Weight Distribution/Sway Control For 5,000 lb Travel Trailer
Question:
IM SO CONFUSED!!! I have a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE 4.3L V6 towing a 2022 GS Ameri-Lite 199RK. TT tongue weight 490 Dry weight 3520 Payload 1370. Looking for a WDH w/sway that wont break the bank and not be overkill. Thanks so much

Hi Diana,
I think we can help you out here with a weight distribution hitch that has sway control. Thanks for the info you gave and based on your nearly 5,000 lb GVWR your loaded tongue weight will be in the 650 lb range and the most economical hitch that will work for your needs is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA94-00-0800.
There isn't going to be a hitch that is inexpensive, as that's just the nature of these hitches, but this is the one you're going to pay the least for. That doesn't mean it's bad by any means. Just the opposite, in fact, as Fastway has an excellent reputation for quality, and this hitch is going to do a superb job of both leveling you out and helping control your trailer as you are on the road.
Along with the hitch you'll also need the hitch ball and a socket to install it, the Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 and 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6120.
