Can You Use Two Different Tire Sizes On An RV  

Question:

Mavis put 235/ 45Zr 18 on the rigjt side and 245//45r 18 on the right side . Will it affect the tread ?

Hey Jay,

This will absolutely affect the wear on your tire tread. The first number in a tire code (235) is the width of the tire. The second (45) is a percentage of the first number. If we do the math you have a 235mm wide x 105.75mm tall on one side and a 245mm wide x 110.25mm tall tire on the other. It's a miniscule difference but still enough to cause uneven wear and ride quality issues. With how small of a difference it is it wouldn't be a major/immediate effect but would wear faster than it should. I'd take the RV back and get the issue fixed so that the cost isn't coming out of your pocket.

Copy that and you’re absolutely right because I looked closer and the inner wheel front right and the back left are completely bald within 11 months of having them . I appreciate the help
