Is Swapping Out Class II 2017 Ford Escape Trailer Hitch for a Class III Difficult

How do I switch it a class 2 hitch for a class 3 hitch on a 2017 Ford Escape?? Is it difficult to do??

Hey Melissa, thanks for reaching out!
If you're a DIYer then swapping out your current 2017 Ford Escape Class II hitch for a Class III like the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98866 isn't very difficult, just time consuming and you'll need to figure out a way to get the old hardware out of your frame rail. There will be an access point you might be able to use a long magnet to get them out but it will take patience.
For someone who isn't familiar with hitch installs this could be a bit overwhelming and I would recommend to have a shop or experienced friend help you out with this. Attached are the installation instructions as well as a link to our installation video and our locator finder if you'd rather have a shop do the installation for you.
