Looking For Replacement Hubs And Bearings For A DW58 Swivelwheel Trailer
Question:
I have a DW58 Swivelwheel Trailer with a 5.70X8 D rated 8 ply tire on it but I dont know what HUB assembly to buy for it? it can hold 1000 s on the trailer but I dont know the rating on the half Torsion Axles to buy the right size Bearing kit and new hub for it? I am not by the trailer and was hoping you guys were familiar with that type of Golf Cart Trailer? thanks.

Hello Derek. I can definitely point you in the right direction. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to accurately recommend a hub or bearings based on just the model of trailer. Knowing the axle weight capacity can help to narrow things down. The only way for you to truly know what hub to get will be for you to go to the trailer, remove one of the hubs and unpack the bearings. Each bearing should have a number stamped on the edge which we can use, or you can measure the OD and ID with a caliper.
Looking at these DW58 Swivelwheel Trailers online it appears to be a 5 lug hub, but they do not list any specifics beyond that in their online manual. It might be a standard 5 on 4-1/2" hub like part AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K. This uses a # L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) and # L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) bearings which are very common. Please do remove a hub and confirm this next time you are at the trailer.
If you can provide me with the inner and outer bearing sizes or numbers, as well as the hub bolt pattern I am happy to recommend a hub for you. I wonder if you contact a Swivelwheel trailer dealer they could possibly give you that info if you provide the VIN? Feel free to drop that info in the comments below when you get it.

Yes, thank you for that I was hoping you do have some past experience with these as I am not by my trailer to pull apart and was hoping to order the correct package now so when I do pull it apart I have everything I need. And yes they do not have anything on their website as far as technical information and unfortunately they are not too good at answer their phones anyway. But it was a shot and thank you for your time, I will be purchasing the correct setup from you guys of course. thanks.
