Trailer Jack Dimensions for the Bulldog Round Pipe Mount Swivel Jack

Question:

Bryce, regarding the Bulldog BD178101, can you please advise, 1 When it comes to trailer jacks in general, how is clearance defined? 2 what is the purpose of the clearance measurement? 3 I found the catalog for the Bulldog jacks, and it shows the clearance measurement C to be from the center of the pipe mount to the top of the outer tube of the jack. However, in some of the etrailer videos of other Bulldog jacks, etrailer is showing the clearance to be at the top of the handle very top of the jack assembly. Can you please advise whether we should consider the handle height as part of the clearance measurement, too? 4 Is a trailer Jacks retracted height, when fully retracted, the distance from the bottom of the footplate the ground to the center of the pipe mount A + the clearance C measurement? Thank you. Kelly S.

Hey Kelly, so clearance as we define it, is going to be the distance from the mounting bracket to the top of the jack tube excluding the handle.

Both of the extended and retracted measurements are going to be taken from the bottom of the footplate to the top of the jack tube excluding the handle. So the Bulldog # BD178101 measures 11 1/4" retracted, and 21 1/4" extended.
