Can 12V Wire From Unused Light Charge 12V Battery While Connected to Truck

Question:

I have an enclosed trailer with an interior light I dont use. Would it be possible to just run the wires from that light to a small 12v lawnmower battery so it will change while the truck is running? I want to make sure I dont drain my truck battery when the truck sits for a few days.

Since you aren't using that light you can repurpose that 12V wire and run it to your lawnmower battery. If you're worried about it draining the battery when the truck isn't on you can either unplug the trailer or add in a solenoid like # PK5231201. It is worth noting that the power from the 7-way on your truck is a maintenance charge and won't actually charge the battery. For that you need an actual battery charger like # CTEK56353.
