How do I remove my Yakima Roof rack from my 2013 Explorer without the tool provided.?

Hello Dale. Without the tool, you may be able to remove the towers with an appropriately sized allen wrench, however this can be tricky. For security reasons, Yakima designed their towers so that they are not easily removed without the tool provided. What I recommend doing is simply getting a new tool so you can remove the roof rack without any hassle. I am not sure exactly which Yakima roof rack system you have, but if you have the BaseLine, RidgeLine, SkyLine, or TimberLine towers, the correct tool will be part # 8881045.
