Hey Michael,

We have some hitch options available but I'll need a bit more information on your Silverado in order to find the correct fit. The available hitches are sectioned out by model (1500, 2500, 3500), bed length, and bumper type. If you can give me that information I'd be happy to pick out the correct fit for you.

@MichaelA For a 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 with an original bumper you'll need the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98849. This trailer hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 6,000lbs or 10,000lbs when used with a weight distribution hitch and a maximum tongue weight capacity of 600lbs or 1,000lbs when used with a weight distribution hitch. You'll still want to refer back to your specific vehicle's towing capacity to avoid overloading. With the age of your Silverado I definitely recommend picking up some penetrating oil and giving the old bolts a good spraying to help loosen them up enough to back them out. Before putting in the new hardware I'd also recommend cleaning out the four weld nuts in the frame to prevent any debris trapped in them from stripping out the new bolt threads. I've attached a short video below where Rob will walk you through the installation process.
