Replacement Clevis Pin For The Curt Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # C89JR

Question:

I just picked up what I think is this curt bike rack from a family member. The pics from this site and instruction manual look to match what I have. Pics attached. It didn’t come with the 1/2” pin. I’d like a locking anti sway pin ideally. I don’t see threads inside the shank where the pin hole is. The end of the shank is what I believe expands when I twist the locking mechanism at the other end of the shank. What options do I have for the locking anti sway pin? Any curt options? Feel free to throw out other non-curt options as well. This rack is going into a 2006 Tacoma with an aftermarket receiver 2”. I also have a 2019 Tacoma SR5 with a 2” receiver as well so I need it long enough to clear that receiver. I previously had some issues with a separate pin not being long enough on the 2019 receiver.

Hey Robert,

Based on the pictures you provided it looks like you do have the Curt Bike Rack # C89JR. It has a tool-free anti-rattle device that presses against the inside of the trailer hitch to prevent movement and a 1/2" diameter clevis pin to fully secure it to the trailer hitch. Since the clevis pin isn't sold separately you could use the Curt Clevis Pin with Handle and Clip # C45805 or just pick up another 1/2" diameter clevis pin and clip from your local farm & home or hardware store. You'll just want to get one that's got around 3" of useable length.
