Can I Use My Equal-i-zer WD Hitch On A New Truck That Sits 3" Higher Than The Old Truck?
Question:
Hello, I am changing trucks. Old is 2019 ram 1500, new is 2024 ram 2500. For my old ram 1500 I am using a fast way e2 10 weight distribution hitch with a standard 2” shank to pull my tt . This is your part FA94-00-1000. The new 2500 is about 3 inch higher and I was wondering if I can adjust current shank enough to fit my new 2500 ram to the trailer. The current shaft setup with the 1500 shows the two bottom Schank bores visible, so I could adjust 2 down. I am wondering what I should do to make this work? THANK YOU

Hello Marcus. With the new truck being about 3" higher, dropping the head only 2 holes lower on the current shank might not be quite enough to get things back to level. Getting a slightly larger shank will be your best bet. I see that you have already ordered the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # FA94-00-1000 which has a 6" drop. The original shank that came with your Equal-i-zer hitch is only a 3-1/2" drop, so the # FA94-00-1000 will definitely have enough drop for your new truck.
