Preparing To Flat Tow a 2022 Ford F-150 along With a 2018 Ford Expedition

Question:

i have a 2018 ford expedition and a 2022 ford f150. my plan was to mostly flat tow the expedition behind our motorhome, but maybe the idea of towing the f150 sometimes would be a good idea. both vehicles have the neutral tow option. i already purchased the roadmaster direct connect base plate kit from you for the expedtion. if i wanted to share parts as much as possible, would the roadmaster blackhawk 2 be a good choice? what about lights and wiring? for brakes i was thinking blue ox patriot so i could move it from one vehicle to the other.

For your 2022 Ford F-150 you will want the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate # RM38VR. The Roadmaster BlackHawk 2 All-Terrain Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-422 is a great option as it is a very rugged bar that is rated well above the curb weights of both your F-150 and the 2018 Ford Expedition. The Roadmaster Accessory Kit # RM-9243-3 will provide you with the safety cables and the wiring to use on your Expedition. For your F-150 you will need either the Incandescent Kit # RM26FR or LED Kit # RM38FR depending on the tail lights you have. I refrain from using magnetic lights that would work on both as those often will get left in the other vehicle and they don't stick well to aluminum like the body work on your F-150.

Both vehicles are also going to need their own Charge Line # RM-156-25 since the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR will drain the vehicle battery. And your F-150 will need the 12 Volt Outlet # RM-9332 as the charge port does not have power when the ignition is off. A 2nd Breakaway Kit # BRK2505 will save you from having to switch it from vehicle to vehicle as well. You would only need to move the main unit with the power cord.
