Troubleshooting the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness That Has Lights On All the Time

Question:

I asked a question previously about this harness and I read out the wires and all checks good. Cleaned the connectors as well. No issues with any fuses as well. The running lights remain on while the vehicle is either on or off and with vehicle lights on or off. The turn signals work intermittently shortly after vehicle is turned on but will stop blinking. Ground is solid along with all the connections. Any thoughts? I’d rather not replace the whole harness, especially being only 1-1/2 years old. Thank you

Johnathan, since there there is a signal with the lights off, then there is a problem on the vehicle side. What you're going to need to do is check to make sure that the brown wire is properly connected to the running light wire at the rear of the vehicle, and that your grounds are all good, but it sounds like you've already checked this part so I'd move onto checking the converter.

To test your converter, you will need to test the wiring going in for function. If the functions are incorrect going in, then something is wired wrong and you will need to basically reinstall the wiring harness again as if you were installing it for the first time.

If the functions are good going in to the converter, but incorrect going out, then there is a problem inside the converter and it will need to be replaced. If the signals are correct going in and coming out, the issue lies elsewhere.
