How to Determine Right Spring For Ramp
Question:
I have a 2016 7x16 Neo enclosed trailer that I need to replace the spring system for the rear ramp. I’m curious on what option you would suggest I am not sure of the weight of the door? Also is there any product or kits out there to completely eliminate the spring and cable system but instead more the assist down at the hinges. I could really use the little bit of extra overhead clearance. Much appreciated.

Hi there John; I'd love to tell you exactly what you need but you have to know the weight of the door, there just isn't any way around it. There isn't a product or kit to completely eliminate the spring and cable so to find the right one you need the weight of the door (which the trailer manufacturer should be able to tell you) and the width of the door. For example an 80" to 96" wide trailer door that is up to 250 lbs would use the Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 8' Wide Enclosed Trailer # CB250D96SHD.
I have added a link below to our entire selection of ramp springs.
