Replacement Hanger Kit For A 1960s Streamline Empress
Question:
I received a MR87ZR as a gift. The item was bought through etrailer and recommended by an etrailer expert for my trailer. I began the installation today and was truly frustrated. The hanger that the equalizer hangs on is 3” wide while the MoRyde equalizer is @1.75” wide. I can not bolt it on. In addition I received the up graded shackle kit. The item was recommended by an eTrailer expert, how can it be corrected? It was only bought due to your experts advice. I also tried to do a chat and it went down, gave me a phone number of which someone was available but only allowed me to message. Again, I want this to be resolved quickly to my satisfaction. We followed your team’s directions.

Hello Skip. The parts that I suggested to you were recommended based on the information and specs that you provided. Looking back at our previous conversations the 3" wide equalizer hanger was never mentioned, and we would have no way of knowing the size otherwise. All of the parts we have discussed up to this point are intended to be used with 1-3/4" wide double-eye leaf springs.
If your hangers will not accommodate this kind of suspension setup they will need to be replaced. the Tandem Axle Hanger Kit # H248 will be a good option for your trailer. Since your trailer is so old, a lot of the parts/sizing is uses are obsolete. If you wish to use modern suspension components, replacing the hangers will be necessary.
