Troubleshooting 12 Volt Accessory Circuit Not Working After 7-Way Plugged in Upside Down

Question:

I accidentally plugged the 7 way in upside down. Now the trailer running lights don’t work and my battery isn’t charging while towing nor from The solar. The converter is working fine, no fuses or breakers in the trailer are tripped. One fuse was blown on the truck. The one for trailer battery and we replaced. Still have the same issue. We plugged in a different tow vehicle and the running lights work but the middle one is dim and the blinkers look funny. The battery is at 11.5.

How were you able to plug the 7-way in upside down? There is a cut out and notch on the 7-way that was designed to prevent that. Are you sure it actually went in upside down? With that said if it did somehow happen the problem you described would have to be that the 12 volt power circuit got shorted out and probably melted/destroyed the wiring. You would need to replace it with the part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot.
