Will Furrion Vision S Camera Work on 2021 Winnebago Motorhome on Sprinter Chassis

Question:

I have a 2021 Winnebago View and want to put a camera in the back so I can constantly view my tow vehicle. I was looking at this camera. Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision - Rear Mount - 5 Screen - FOS05TASF but it says it sill not works on the newer Mercedes. If that's true would you recommend one that does.

Hi David, thanks for the question and there is actually a way for your 2021 Winnebago View motorhome to use the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System - 5" Screen # FOS05TASF.

To do so, all you need to do is add the 12V PWM Filter for RV Backup Camera Systems - Hardwire # VGR64VR.

The issue with camera systems and motorhomes like yours on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis is that the wiring doesn't send the right amount of power to the camera, and what the filter does is ensure a steady current of voltage at the wiring to make sure the camera works.

I have added a link below to a video of this being installed on a Sprinter chassis so you can see how it's done.

Thank you for your response regarding a rear camera. I hav e one more question. Two or three years ago I had a Haloview model MC109 7" camera installed but the camera has never worked right only occasionally coming on. Do you know if that camera would also require the 12V PWM Filter you said I would need for the Fusion camera? I just need a camera that works! Thank you

@DavidK I do not know about the Haloview, I'm sorry to say. Also keep in mind the Furrion camera will only work with the Furrion monitor, and vice-versa.

@KyleS I have a Haloview camera and monitor but I rarely get a picture. I guess I just need to start over so I want to make sure I get the right camera and monitor this time. Is the Fusion FOS05TASF with the PWM Filter the best choice for my 2021 Sprinter or would you recommend something different? Is there a camera available that doesn't require a filter? I have the Mercedes navigation with rear camera but there's no way, that I'm aware of, to have the camera on while the vehicle is going forward. If there's a way to do that that's what I would really like!

@DK Yes, the Furrion # FOS05TASF and Filter # VGR64VR is the best choice, and there isn't actually option that won't require some it. And like you said, there isn't a way to go with the Mercedes camera and use your system (as nice as that would be).
