Parts Needed For Flat Towing a 2005 PT Cruiser
Question:
I am looking at buying a 2005 PT cruiser 2.4 L engine with five speed manual transmission. I do not find any information on if the transmission will still be oiled and is it safe to flat tow it behind my RV thanks

According to the owners manual for the 2005 PT Cruiser it is safe to be flat towed behind an RV. They make no mention of needing to start the vehicle and let it idle for any periods of time so the transmission should self lubricate itself. I recommend using the Roadmaster Base Plate # 278-1 which I see you already found. You will need a Crossbar # 910021-00 along with a set of tow bars like the Nighthawk # RM-676. These bars are one of the most popular options with having the built in running lights. The Accessory Kit # RM-9284-2 will pair with these bars and give you locks, a storage cover, bag, lube, safety cables and wiring for integrating the tail lights on your PT Cruiser with the lights on your RV.
You will also want to use a Charge Line # RM-156-25 to ensure the Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 does not drain your battery while in tow.
