Replacement Suspension Components For A 2019 Freedom Express 275BHS

Question:

Hi, I have a Freedom express 275BHS camp trailer and noticed that the leaf springs sitting in my driveway over the winter are pretty flat. I was wondering what suggestions would be for upgrading the suspension for the camp trailer. The trailer is 2019 and we have about 80 nights in the trailer since we purchased it. Trips are through the Colorado mountains and range from 2-3 hr drives from our house. Currently i have a 42inch axel to axel span, have noticed that the back tire is wearing on the inside so i was thinking i could be getting some wear on the shackle. I was considering getting one of those Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers - Double Eye Springs - Tandem Axle - 5.2Kinch shackles with new leaf springs.

Hi Steve,

When replacing suspension components it's important to replace each component with matching sizes to keep the spacing right for the suspension to travel. You'll want to lift the trailer on one side by the frame and remove the wheels to get better access to the suspension and then you can measure each component based on the diagrams below. Once we have some more information we can start looking for the correct replacements.
