Should Transfer Switch be Replaced at Same Time as Upgraded Converter on RV

Question:

Hello customer service I wrote you yesterday to have a few information about, which one should I buy for my motorhome? 60 or 80 amps PD9280A or 9260C to charge my Three batteries Groupe 31. When I drive with my motorhome very often I sleep at truck stop at first winter no sun . During the night I only use My inverter 1000 watt , for the lights, TV, and the 12 volts for frigo and heater propane. The next morning the amps batteries go down , I have started the generateur to charge my batteries and I find that take many times to fill my batteries . It is why I want to buy the better model to meet my need and also I want to change my inverter for PD64FR, Would be better to change for Inverter /charger to remplace the both? Now I have a converter model Interli power 45 amps , 750Watt and inverter Prowatt SW 1000 sine wave Thank you , I will appreciate it Jean Yves Boucher

Hey Jean, so it really depends on the rating of your current transfer switch if you should replace it with the part # PD64FR at same time as when you install the converter part # PD9280A.

The new converter is rated for up to 1,300 watts so your current transfer switch would need to be rated for at least that to get full advantage of the new converter. If not, then it would be a good idea also go with the new switch part # PD64FR which is rated for 2,000 watts.

Hello Mr Jameson C Thank you to follow my question I found my automatic Transfer switch , My model 5100 Progressive Dynamic 30 Amps, With all the information I give you , will be able to give me all the information and parts that I will need to improve this Problem if necessary. I have already fixed Electrical outlet 120 volts independent of other circuits for my inverteur that is Prowat SW 1000 watt . Thank you I will appreciate it Jean Yves Boucher .
