Are There On/Off Road Tire Chains Which Fit Both 275/65-18 and 245/70-17 Tires?
Question:
Hello, I’m looking at purchasing tire tire chains to fit both my 2013 Ford F150 with 275/65/R18 tires and my father’s 2020 Ford F150 with 245/70/R17 tires. I ultimately would like a set designed for both road and off road use. The closest chains I found are #TC2828. They say it’ll fit the 275/65/R18, but what about a 245/70/R17 tire? Would these chains loosely fit a 17 or only the 17.5? These would only be used in emergency situations, especially on my father’s truck. Any help you can provide would be appreciated, thank you!

Expert Reply:
According to Titan Chain the Chains # TC2828 will not fit both your tire sizes. While they will fit on the 275/65R18 tires they are not the correct size for the 245/70R17. The difference could lead to damage on your wheels. You would want the Chains # TC3810 for the 245/70R17 tires. I was not able to find any chains which will fit both your size tires so you are going to be best to get a set for each truck along with Tensioners # TCMA2 so you can just keep them in the truck at all times.
