Recommended Bike Rack for a Tandem Bike

Will the Softride Hang 2 vertical carrier accommodate a tandem bike?

No, I am sorry Jim the Softride Hang2 2-Bike Rack item # SR27041 does not work with tandem bikes. The only option I have for a hitch mounted bike rack, that is compatible, would be the Swagman XC-Extended Bike Rack item # S64650-EXT. You would need to make sure your bike's wheel base is 69" or less and weighs 35 lbs or less.
The Swagman XC-Extended Bike Rack item # S64650-EXT also mounts in 1-1/4" Class II and 2" hitch receivers. It weighs 38 lbs.
