Replacement Parts and Capacity for a Dayton Fayette Axle

Question:

good afternoon i recently acquired a late 70s to 80s terry by fleetwood 5th wheel camper and i am planning on converting it to a car hauler i need some help identifying the axles especially the weight they are Dayton Fayette axles the axle tube measures 3 inches in diameter and the lug pattern is the old style 4x9.44 i believe and the brake drum has a few numbers cast into it max dia 12.040 Im guessing that has to do with the brake drum diameter and if Im making it out right it also has 230 W-2 and 225/75D15 tires any information on the axles and where/if i can get parts for it would be appreciated from what i have read and cross referenced and read i believe them to be 5-7 axles but then again everyone seems to have a different opinion

Good afternoon! I am not sure what the stamped numbers mean but 3" diameter axles will typically have between 5,200 lbs to 7,000 lbs capacity. As far as replacement parts for it, like hubs, you're going to need to pull one of your hubs off and either read the numbers off of the side of the bearings or measure the spindle using a digital caliper like item # PTW80157.
