Trunk Mount Bike Rack for 2013 Hyundai Sonata and 2010 Ford Edge with Spoiler

Question:

I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and a 2010 Ford Edge with a visor/spoiler over the rear glass. Can I use the TH911XT on both vehicles or is the spoiler an issue? Thanks,

It is not recommended to use a trunk mount bike rack if the vehicle has a spoiler and any part of the straps or rack put weight on the spoiler. For a 3-bike trunk mount bike rack that fits both your 2013 Hyundai Sonata and 2010 Ford Edge, with or without a spoiler, you can use the Hollywood Racks Over-The-Top # HRF2-3.

This rack has an additional arm piece that moves the top straps up and over the spoiler so no weight is on it.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical mens bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wifes bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my sons bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
