How to Carry 5 Bikes on a 2013 Toyota Prius V
Question:
If I use the HTAD 2inch adapter with this hitch, does that mean I could only have a bike rack with bikes of 100 lbs? I have a 5 bike trailer hitch and Im concerned they may weigh more than 100 lbs.

You are correct. The use of an adapter such as # HTAD reduces the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent. That would reduce it to 100 pounds on Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24808. The combined weight of the bike rack and bikes cannot exceed 100 pounds.
But that is not the only problem. Class I trailer hitches like # 24808 are only rated to hold up to 2 bikes at most. The issue is that the weight will be too far from the receiver if adding a third or more bikes. This puts a lot of extra stress on the hitch and can damage it and the vehicle.
You will also want to check the owners manual for your 2013 Toyota Prius V (this hitch only fits 2004 to 2009 Prii) because it has been our experience that Toyota states not to install a hitch.
To carry 5 bikes on this vehicle you would need a combination trunk mount bike rack and a roof rack. The most amount of bikes you can carry on the trunk is 3 using a trunk mount rack such as # HRF2-3.
Then for a roof rack the most economical option is Rhino-Rack roof rack using the following parts:
Aero Crossbars # RRVA126B-2
Feet # RRRLKVA
Fit kit # DK195
You could then add 2 compatible bike racks, # RBC035, sold in quantities of one.
