What Strainer Will Work with the Camco RV Drain Trap

Question:

I have four of these to use with some sinks made from hotel pans. Where are these supposed to seal? The threads are too long to seal at the bottom of the strainer connection when I use the nut that comes with the strainer connection. The strainer connection will not bottom out in the Ptrap and seal at the bottom. If I try to use this to snug teh strainer connector into teh sink and seal at teh bottom, teh threads are too short, and stacking rubber washers at teh bottom works about as poorly as one would think it would. It really seems like I need to have shorter threads, to secure the strainer to the bottom of the sink with the nut that came with teh strainer for that purpose, and then be able to screw this onto the strainer connection far enough to bottom out the strainer connector and seal inside the bottom of the p trap. Am I missing something? Do you make a ptrap with less threads, shorter so that I can do this, or do I need to take a band saw to it to make it work? Thanks.

Hey Doug!

The Camco RV Drain Trap # CAM37262 can be paired with the Sink Strainer w/ Push-In Basket for 2" Drain # 37295325 so you get a strainer with a great seal to the drain!

Could you give me the dimension for the threads on that? I apologize if it is online and I missed it. It looks a lot like the one I already have. I would hate to spend $XX to buy 4 more of what I already have. Thanks.

@Doug According to my contact at JR Products the thread diameter is 1.82" but I'm waiting to hear back from them about the thread count. I will let you know what I find when I hear back from them. We have a reviews on both pages from John that confirm these work together without leaking if that's any consolation to you.
