Can Different Styles of Tire Chains Be Used on a 1998 Dodge Ram Pickup
Question:
I am looking at buying some tire chairs for my truck. I have a question I haven’t been able to find the answer to. Can I use two different styles or link sizes of chain sets on my vehicle? For example a twist link set on the back and a v-bar set up front. Or two different sizes of twist link sets again one set for the back and one set for the front.

Expert Reply:
Yeah Mike it does not matter, you can mix any style of link you want on your tires. The only thing you'd want to be wary of is if you had a car that had limited wheel well clearance, which then you'd only be able to use certain tire chains that are for those circumstances, but since you're talking about a truck you'll be all good.
