Suspension Upgrade for 2020 Wolf Pup 16FQ
Question:
What suspension upgrade do you recommend for a 2020 Wolf Pup 16FQ? I am interested in improving ride quality and capability e.g., the trailer’s previous owner bottomed out the suspension and the axle hit the spring mounts under the frame as well as overall safety via handling and avoiding suspension component failure. I would also like to use this suspension with a SumoSprings Trailer kit for an axle over spring setup. Thanks

You're very limited on suspension upgrades with a single axle on your 2020 Wolf Pup 16FQ. Since you're worried about suspension component failure, I would add the Dexter Heavy Duty Suspension Upgrade Kit for Single Axle Trailers # K71-358-00. This includes 1/2" thick steel shackle straps, wet bolts, and bronze bushings so you know the components will last. This is one of the best upgrades you can make on any trailer.
Outside of that, adding the SumoSprings is going to be the best option. I'm assuming you're saying your leaf springs sit under your axle, so it is an underslung setup. If that is the case, the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-106-40 is the correct kit. An overslung setup with leaf springs on top of the axle would need # TSS-107-40. These will improve handling, absorb road shock, reduce sway, and prevent bottoming out. They also reduce the strain on your other suspension components so really they do everything you're wanting.
