How to Make a Rackem Trailer Cargo Control Ladder Rack # RA-28 fit a 40 inch Width Roof
Question:
It appears that the width is adjusted by one side sliding into the other. I understand the as you buy width min is 48. I have a trailer that is a little over 40inch wide. My question is can I cut the sleeve system down enough to fit the 40inch width? Ideally, this would mean cutting only the smaller dimension tube. That would make the question how long is the bigger or outside cross bar tube?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Since you need to shorten the width of the Rackem Trailer Cargo Control Ladder Rack # RA-28 by 8 inches to fit your 40 inch wide trailer roof all you would need to do is remove 8 inches from the inner and outer telescoping tubes and this rack would be compatible with your roof.
