Where Does Red Wire on 4-Way Attach on Trailer

Since you're looking at 4-way wiring I'm assuming you have a wishbone style harness with an extra red wire. I would expect you to have the standard green, yellow, brown and white like the # 16-4B-1. The brown and red will go to the running lights on either side of the trailer.
If you have a 5-way with an actuator it is possible this is a wire running to a reverse lockout solenoid. If you're referring to something else entirely I would be happy to help you figure it out if you can provide me with more information.
