Selecting The Correct Handrail For Folding Steps Used To Get Into Truck Bed Camper
Question:
We have the three step attached to the end of the tail gate and we need one that will fit. The step bracket is 24” from the wall so the three step rail only goes out as far as the first step. Should we be using a 4 or a 5 step handrail?

Thank you for the image Mike. You are most likely going to need the 5 Step Hand Rail # AHR5 but I do recommend measuring to see where the handrail is going to end up. First of all the post for the handrail places the bottom of the rail 43" from the ground. The rail is also 57" long so you will want to see where these points meet on your application to determine if it will attach to your steps and if it will be too tall.
The 4-Step Hand Rail # AHR4 is going to also have a 43" post but the handrail is much shorter at 49".
