2023 Honda Passport Plug-And-Play Style Trailer Wiring Kit Recommendation

Question:

I have a 2023 Honda Passport AWD. I am Only interested in finding a 7 AND 4 Combination Plug and Play wiring harness such as I have on my Pick-up. This will give me all the additional functions I will require such as Trailer braking, AUX Power, Back-up Etc. whether using a 7 OR 4 Pin equipped trailer. Thanks

Thanks for reaching out, Robert!

The best way to add a plug-and-play style 4-Way/7-Way connector to your 2023 Honda Passport is with the following parts:

- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # CU86FR
- 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975
- No-Drill Mount Bracket, Long # 18136

The Curt wiring kit is a plug-and-play style where the only "splicing" you have to do is ground the white wire to a clean bare metal spot on your frame with the included self-tapping screw. This kit only comes with a 7-Way but it has a US CAR connector that matches the back side of the Hopkins 4-Way/7-Way so you'll just use that connector instead of what came with the Curt kit. The no-drill mount bracket then allows you to mount the wiring connector near your hitch receiver without having to modify anything on your vehicle or the hitch itself.

Attached is an installation video of the Curt kit on a 2021 Passport you can use as a reference.

Hi Jon and thanks again for your expert advice.I watched the installation video but I'm curious as to the purpose for the Single Blue Wire connected to what appears to be a Multi-pin Connector. Thanks Bob

@Bob Great question! That single blue wire and connector is for the backup sensor. If you need to disconnect your backup sensor from it's original location you'll just plug it into that blue wire so the backup sensor will still function.
