Baseplate Compatibility For A 2021 Jeep Gladiator With A Bulldog JL Winch Mount # 341

Question:

Hello. I need a base plate for a 2021 Gladiator with a steel bumper. I have a bull dog JL Winch Mount 341 which mounts in between the frame rails. I would prefer something like this without a cross bar to keep approach angle but at this point, would like to know what would work.

Hi Aaron,

The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521453-5 you were wanting to install is going to mount in the same space as the winch mount so you'd have to either modify how the winch attaches to the frame in order to mount both. The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM77VR mounts to the outside of the frame and shouldn't interfere with how the winch plate mounts, but the crosstube could pose an issue since it sits below the the frame rails where the winch plate would. You might be lucky and get enough clearance to install it but I recommend checking first.

I drew up a little diagram showing the distance from the center of the top mounting holes down to the top of the crosstube so that you can fin these mounting holes on the frame and measure down to check the clearance.
