Recommended Platform-Style Bike Carrier For 2013 Ford Edge
Question:
2013 Ford Edge with class 3 curt hitch. Looking at the Swagman XC2- XTC2 or the prorack 2 bike platform. I need to haul a larger 29inch cruiser and a 26inch womens cruiser. Which one do you recommend ? I would be interested in the best value but also which on fits the edge best and keeps the bikes secure and away from the back of the edge to prevent damage.. Can you offer any info to help me decide ?

The bike carrier I would recommend for your 2013 Ford Edge is the Swagman XTC-2, part # S64670. This carrier can accommodate bikes with wheel diameters up to 2-1/2 inches. This carrier has a 3 inch rise in the shank to provide more ground clearance and can hold 2 bikes that weigh up to 35 lbs each. The push button ratcheting system adjusts easily and works with any bike frames regardless of the frame size. I have attached a link to an installation video of this carrier on a Ford Edge.
I also recommend the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Swagman Bike Racks, part # S64031. This helps prevent movement of the bike carrier in the hitch and provides added security to help deter theft.
