What to Measure On a Trailer Spindle for Replacement

I have a Dexter P-15 Model SLR SN 07763064 that has a damaged spindle. Can the spindle only be replaced?

Yes the spindle can be replaced, but you're going to have to take a couple quick measurements to find out what the replacement is.
Using the diagram I've attached and a set of digital calipers # PTW80157 you'll want to measure the grease seal seat (B), the inner bearing seat (C), and the spindle shaft diameter (A).
From here we'd have all the info about your spindle which would lead us to the correct replacement.
